Everyone Together is a new television comedy series in development that follows two dysfunctional families from different cultural backgrounds as they gather together for milestone events. The pilot was an Official Selection of the episodic pilot competition at the SXSW Film Festival and won Best Comedy Pilot and Best Comedy Writer at SeriesFest Season 6. Firefly Theater & Films needed a distinctive and engaging visual identity to define the show’s poster and other marketing collateral. One of the challenges was to clearly communicate that the show is a comedy, but still keep the overall tone edgy so that it appeals to a mature audience.

LT Design created a visual identity with the theme of closeness. We art directed the actors in a photo booth setting often seen at festive events to capture a dynamic composition that communicates the chaotic energy of family gatherings. Annotations on the image reveal the hidden tensions, resentments, fears, and insecurities just below the surface of the playful poses.

LT Design created the logotype to express the tension produced by the forced intimacy of the week-long, campsite wedding where the pilot takes place. The family members have all been brought together to celebrate – perhaps a little closer than they’re comfortable with. To convey this atmosphere, the exaggerated tight kerning of the letters communicates a claustrophobic feeling, and the yellow color adds a touch of humor. The condensed typeface also enables the title to be very large in the composition, increasing visibility. LT Design selected the font Franklin Gothic Condensed for its bold letterforms, clear legibility, and distinct character.

The design is rolled out across print collateral, digital marketing, and social media.
